We are absolutely thrilled to share a massive success story from our local community! The brilliant young minds at Shirenewton Primary School worked hard on their ROAR project, and they have blown us away with their innovative idea for a phone app called "Citizen Select." 📱✨
The children pitched their creative app concept designed to transform everyday supermarket visits into conscious shopping decisions. By personalising your preferences, the app scans products and ranks them out of 10 based on crucial parameters that matter to us all:
🌍 Planet: Food miles traveled, packaging impact, CO2 emissions, water usage, and organic farming.
👥 People: Fair trade practices, worker welfare, and farmer compensation.
🍏 Health: Unhealthy ingredients, chemicals used, antibiotics, and allergy safety.
Their pitch even featured a brilliant, catchy jingle: "Citizen select - select the best that you can get!" 🎶
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the hard work, teamwork, and forward-thinking ideas of these children.
